At the 2005 Choral Competition in New York City, the SVMS 8th grade chorus had a first place superior rating.

Mrs. Vrana, the Hawks' math teacher, received a Mac grant for her class.

The Seneca Valley Middle School hosted the Western Pennsylvania Academic Games Presidents Tournament on September 23, 2005.  There were over 100 middle school students from local area schools that competed in this competition.  
Three of the five middle school students that were eligible to advance to the National Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina in April were from Seneca Valley.  They were seventh grader Matt Graf, and eighth graders Andrew D'Aversa and Chris Wolden. This was an incredible accomplishment for these fine young men and they should be commended.
