The American College Test is a college admission exam requiring two hours and forty minutes. It measures English, reading, mathematics and scientific reasoning. It is recommended that students take this test before the end of their junior year. An optional writing portion is available to interested students.
Registration materials are available in the senior high guidance office or can be found at the ACT web site.

AP Exams are administered in conjunction with the completion of Advanced Placement courses. Students who choose to sit for an exam may be able to earn college credit based on their score and the AP policy followed by their chosen school. Students enrolled in AP courses will be notified of specific registration deadlines.

PSAT - PRELIMINARY SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT TEST The Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a shortened version of the College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). All juniors considering college should take this test as preparation for the SAT. The PSAT measures verbal and math abilities. Individual results may qualify a student for National Merit Scholarship consideration.

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment is a state mandated aptitude test administered to all juniors. Students must attain a score of Advanced or Proficient in the areas of Reading, Mathematics and Writing in order to satisfy Seneca Valley graduation requirements.
2007-2008 WRITING
PSSA Writing tests for juniors will be held on Friday, February 15. Students will be notified of their testing room assignment during their first period class.
2007-2008 MATH and READING
PSSA Math and Reading tests for juniors will be administered on April 1st, April 2nd, and April 3rd. Periods will be adjusted during the testing window in order to accommodate the testing schedule. Students will be tested in their assigned homeroom.
2007-2008 SCIENCE
The PSSA Science Test for juniors will be given on April 28th during the student's scheduled science period. Students who are not currently enrolled in a science class will be informed of the time and location of where they are to take the test.
