Seneca Valley staff members are often asked by parents/guardians for recommendations about book selections for their students. Please remember that choice of reading materials differs greatly from student to student. With this in mind, Seneca Valley suggests that parents/guardians use the list provided by the American Library Association as a starting point for finding quality literature for students to read. The following web link to the ALA lists is being provided for your convenience:

Library Mission

The Seneca Valley Senior High School Library materials have been chosen to support the curriculum, stimulate individual student academic pursuits, and encourage recreational reading. The staff is committed to provide instruction in the efficient usage of this facility and to supervise a non-disruptive, pleasant environment while students use a variety of sources to meet their needs and interests. By linking students to these resources, the library program hopes to achieve the goal of providing a bridge between the formal, school-based learning and independent, life-long learning. It is the staff's hope that through collaborative efforts with the teaching staff, the library will be the hub of learning for the high school students.
