SENECA VALLEY CHORUS
STUDENT TRIP GUIDELINES

Seneca Valley School District Handbook and Music Department rules are applicable on trips as well as at all school functions.

BUS CONDUCT

  1. Students must remain seated while the bus is in motion.
  2. All talking must be kept at a reasonable level.

ANY LOUD, UNCOOPERATIVE STUDENT WILL BE SEATED WITH HIS OR HER CHAPERONE.

  1. No littering or defacing of the bus interior. Use litter bags provided.
  2. Everyone will show consideration for those who wish to sleep on the bus.
  3. Treat bus personnel, tour guides, and chaperones with respect at all times.
  4. Changing busses during the trip is not permitted.

HOTEL CONDUCT

  1. Students must be courteous and considerate toward roommates and other guests in the hotel.
  2. Curfews will be strictly enforced. A precise daily schedule will be developed and followed by all. Students must be in their assigned rooms at curfew, at which time a chaperone will tape their door shut. Tape will only be removed from the door by your chaperone, medical personnel, or a director. Students in rooms where the tape is removed by anyone other than the above mentioned will be subject to disciplinary action and removal from the trip. There will be no second chances for this infraction.

GENERAL RULES

  1. Do not hesitate to go to a chaperone with a concern or problem. Remember, they are there to help, not serve.
  2. The schedule and itinerary will be followed. Some alteration to the schedule can be expected. Be prepared to be flexible when necessary.
  3. Students must check in with chaperones at all assigned times.
  4. Smoking will not be permitted at any time.
  5. Displays of affection will be limited to hand-holding.
  6. Students will be required to change any clothing deemed inappropriate by the directors or chaperones. No halter tops or spaghetti straps for girls. One piece or tankini bathing suits are strongly recommended. Appropriate two piece suits may be permitted; however, students will be required to wear a dark colored t-shirt over swimsuits deemed inappropriate by chaperone and director. Please use good judgment and it will not be an issue.
  7. Choral robes will be bagged when not in use. Students are responsible for knowing where their robe and bag is at all times.
  8. Chaperones will not be permitted to hold money or personal items for students. Please do not ask them to do so.
  9. Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs are absolutely banned. Any illegal substance found in your possession will result in immediate removal from the trip.

The music directors and Boosters may, at any time and without notice, conduct a room or luggage search.

  1. If a student violates any Seneca Valley School District or Music Department rule, the parent will be contacted by the director. Upon a student’s removal from the trip, his or her parents will be required, at their expense, to provide financial responsibility and arrangements to have their child returned home. There will be no refund of money should a child be removed from the trip for disciplinary reasons.
  2. If a student is sick or absent from school on the day of the trip, they will not be permitted to board the bus.
  3. Foul language will not be tolerated at any time.

YOU REPRESENT OUR COMMUNITY, SCHOOL, AND ORGANIZATION. YOUR ACTIONS WILL LEAVE A LONG LASTING IMPRESSION.
WE EXPECT YOU TO REMAIN CHEERFUL, COOPERATIVE, AND POLITE AT ALL TIMES, AND WE WILL DO THE SAME!
