VOCAL ENSEMBLES - Email Mrs Alexander
Choral Union 9 This group includes those students with vocal experience and also those who have never sung before. Students gain a basic understanding of how to properly use the singing voice. Members learn of the heritage of choral literature through performance of both past and present, sacred and secular music. Ensemble singing is in three and four part music reading. Students are required to sing in concerts and wear the required concert dress. There are also three to four required after-school rehearsals per semester.
Girls Chorus This group provides an opportunity for self-expression and musical experiences by performing literature composed and arranged for women's voices. Interested students learn about vocal quality, resonance, pitch and interpretation. Students are expected to perform in two concerts: Winter and Spring as well as invitationals or adjudications that arise throughout the year. An audition is required. Robes are worn for the concerts. A small fee is charged for the cleaning of the robes.
