Congratulations Honors Band members 2009!
On Tuesday November 17, 2009 auditions were held for the 2009 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 5 Honors Band at Westminster College. District 5 comprises all school districts in Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties. To audition, students must be in at least 9th grade and prepare a solo piece from a predetermined solo list for each school year. These college level solos are selected by the directors of District 5. Approximately 200 auditioned for a band of 125 students. Seneca Valley had 36 students earn a position in the Honors Band this year. These musicians participated in a three day festival that culminated with a concert in Orr Auditorium at Westminster College on December 5, 2009 at 2:00pm.
